The worst is when HR or someone hires a person to work tech in the company,
you do allllllll sorts of training and hand-holding with this new hire... for
them to just up and vanish.

I'm lucky to have certain skillsets, even if a bit niche, and never ever had
any problem finding steady work. Been lucky to work both offices and at-home
gigs and Covid didn't really seriously affect my career stability.

I kinda wished I studied Cobol or Fortran or mainframes or anything that the
six-foot-tall-300-pound-bearded-wizards are retiring from, where they were
paid all kinds of money and where there is apparently a HUGE demand that is
not being filled by the millenial crowds.
