There are multi-meters out there for laboratory research, but even if
you were willing to look past the price tag (think small automobile),
you'd have to spend a half hour calibrating it for each test.
Considering that you dislike the test kits, I could only imagine how
you'd feel about having to take a year of analytical chemistry to
interpret your results.
