Scott, been there.  I used a paste of non-iodized salt as my tank was glass,
not plastic.  Paste on a soft towel did it then I let a hose run in the tank
to totally flush it for several fillings.  Turned hose off, dipped some out,
and let it set to make sure no leaks, then aftr a day emptied and moved it to
the stand in the living room.
