I'm starting to understand that word better. They live in a small dark place where there's a queen (George) who they think they have to protect. Everything they know is stuff that the queen said, or stuff that was said from within the hive. Failure to protect the queen could impact the entire hive, so they try to sting everything that comes near it, but unfortunately for them the outside forces are often equipped with flyswatters.
