A lot of Americans seem to forget that Ukraine is in this mess now because,
in the 1990s, we talked them into giving up the USSR's nukes in their
territory in favor of a promise that we (the US and the other Western
allies) would protect them from Russia should the consequences of giving up
the nukes ever turn sour.

Now, after several years, they want to pay pretend and act like the US
didn't have a hand in starting this mess.

In this case, I suspect that he is beyond becoming one.
