I'm a citizen of both countries. Born and raised in Canada ... spent enough
time in the US to become a citizen.

It may or may not... I guess if you were a liberal living in New York and you
don't care what non-New Yorkers feel then I guess...
Here's a map of Trump's election night by county... Looks like he won the
country by ~80%.

an other nice one..

Clearly it's not a minority of Red running majority of Blue .
Among other reasons... during the time of the electoral college some of the
smaller states... Like Montana... had a 2 or 3 day ride by horse to vote.
Where as people in more populated areas just walked down the street.
Since the founding of the US they have always been working on compromises.
States that were more populated always wanted a popular vote where as states
who weren't as populated didn't.
As an aside, the current situation with the law makers... House & Senate.
The house gives you a proportional amount of representatives based on
population... This was the answer to the states wanting popular vote rule.
They added the Senate in... 2 senators per state... equal representation for
each state. To pass a law in the states The House will vote, then the Senate
and then finally it's signed into Law by the President.
Perfect compromise... The electoral college should be viewed in the same
manner.
The rules are the rules... they have been around for sometime now. The
Democrats should find some persuasive arguments to win over middle America...
but rather they sound like the sports team who looses all the time and they
blame the rules and refs for their losses.

AI>
AI> If that is so then the electoral college has failed. Donald Trump rarely
AI> visits blue states.
AI>
That's a lie... Trump constantly goes to goes into the Viper's den... all the
time. He Talks to reports all the time, most hate him, he still shows up.
He flipped several blue states because he went to them repeatedly... Michigan
is one... and he was in Minnesota just the other day a state who's hasn't
voted a Republican for over 40 years
AI> Donald Trump will say anything but we all know what his words are worth.
AI>
Not sure that you're saying here... Trump has kept his word more than any
other politician...

AI>
AI> That's what I mean. How can someone win the election by a landslide, and
AI> yet the majority of voters did not vote for them?
AI>
Rules are the rules, they knew they were going into it. Knowing what they
are ... and Hillary still did not stop at some states she needed to win the
election. Bill Clinton told her she should... she chose not to. She assumed
that the states Trump flipped to red were firmly in her corner... And I guess
not, a tactical error on her part.

AI> I am not a fan of Hillary. I didn't watch the election or what she
AI> said/did.
AI>
AI> I do know that Hillary got 2.9 million more votes than Trump.
AI>
Doesn't matter... In the US it's not a popular vote it's an electoral college
vote. If you're running for president you should work your game with that in
mind...
:)
Enjoy!!!
