You are correct in that it was forcefully cleared, people were gassed
with pepper spray, hit with batons and shields.  The people were
peaceful.  There was much coverage and criticism of the event.  The
people who were shot with rubber bullets were another night, my mistake.

DUH -- Federally owned, i.e. belonging to all Americans.

They could have peacefully cleared a path if they had not attempted to
do it by force at the last minute.  Instead, they did it suddenly and
without adequate warning or notice.  They responded to the peaceful
protestors with force.  It did not need to happen that way.

As I said above, the shootings with rubber bullets which caused
considerable damage were on another night.
