Hello Aaron,
AI>> Rubbish. This is not now and never was a Democrat policy.
AT> Bill Deblasio, mayor of NYC, has given in to protesters demands by
AT> shifting $1 billion dollars away from NYC police.
That may be so. I don't know Deblasio or the reason he does what he does.
But I know that defunding police is not a democrat policy.
If we want police to accomplish x,y,z (and I think we do) then they should be given the training and funding to be able to accomplish that in a successful way.
I think this idea of defunding police is unworkable. If we can fund programs that can make police more successful or efficient then that is a good thing.
AI>> AT> inmates released early, and cheaper street drugs.
AI>>
AI>> More rubbish.
AT> In New York, jail is already a thing of the past. In California, state
AT> prisons are letting inmates out "to protect them from covid," but I
AT> see it as a slap in the face to crime victims, and a way to save
AT> money.
I can understand letting non violent criminals out if there is no safe place to put them. When courts decide a sentence, that sentence should be carried out.
AT> I wish this was all rubbish. My state is horrible, and these Democrat
AT> trends could lead to the destruction of the whole country if they get
AT> any more powerful.
This program needs work. Rapists for example (as Arron said the other day) should not be released, in my opinion, since that is a violent crime.
Ttyl :-),
Al
