How can one possibly think that this clown is a good president?
From the first day he behaved like a kid. He created the term "Altenative
Facts" when he (and his staff) were caught lying.
Yes, he creates an entertaining reality show, but the damage he causes
hits the actual reality not a television version.
The real problem I see in the US (and increasingly in Europe) is what you
said in your last paragraph: extremists. You can either vote for some dumb
figure proposing easy solutions for complex matters. This certainly
impresses the toothless racist chimps watching NASCAR races while
polishing their rifles. Or you vote for those, that these people call
"snowflakes" trying to introduce a world where success is a matter of
application and everyone will have to become as equal as forcively
possible.
Both worlds are a nightmare to me. The most favorable system can be found
in between as we used to have in Germany and France before. Introducing a
social system where the state provides everything that everybody needs
(food, water, housing, health care, education) if necessary.
But on the other hand leaves control over the rest of your life and your
success to you. No fear, no forced equality, but equal *chances*.
