Hi Ron,

RL> And none of the Dem candidates are Liberals.  Which is why classical
RL> Liberals have been moving to the Republican party.

I've been reading all this from a distance and am pained a bit by seeing how
divided the USA is. I know of friendships that ended, marriages that folded,
father and son parting ways over discussions related to Trump.

Is that all worth it?

The thing is, from an outside POV, and I've said this before ... there are no
liberals in USA politics, only conservatives and parties to the right.

The Democrats are, from our point of view, conservative as the Republicans are
with the latter being even more to the right. There is no-one to the left. the
political atmosphere in the USA will not tollerate a party which is true
liberal. Heck. even our socialists are more liberal than the most liberal of
what you would call liberal overthere.

RL> If JFK were around today, he'd be a Republican because his positions
RL> would have nothing to do with the Dems of today.

Interesting point.

I'd say Trump is a Republican because it suited his chances of getting elected
better than if he would join the Democrats where he probably wouldn't have made
the ticket ... plus he had an axe to grind with Obama.

With what I know of US politics is that "4 more years" is a reality as in the
current state of affairs I don't see what the Democrats are going to come-up
with. Sanders is going to succomb to a heart-attack soon enough, Mayor Pete is
unelectable on national level, Biden's campaign is going to die a silent death
and the rest ... ?

Is there nothing more uplifting to talk about ?
