Moving day is fast upon us. Four more days to pack and on the 5th
day we move. We are exhausted getting everything packed.  Looking
forward to being done with it. Unfortunately for me, my wife will
be at a baby shower on moving day, so I get all of the fun,  lol.
But that is ok, I'm glad she'll get the time with friends and fa-
mily.   I have been promised that a vegan cupcake will be brought
to me afterward (which I am very excited about).

I have not started the construction of a Tafl baord yet. It didnt
make sense to buy new things/supplies before the move. So, in the
meantime I have it in my head  again that I would  like to try my
hand at the whole conlang thing. I have dipped a toe in a time or
two before, but never in a very focused or organized way. So this
time I have set  forth some ordered  steps I want to work through
to help guide the process. The step I started today: phoneme sel-
ection.  Starting from a specific sound group seemed a good call.
For my language I have decided to  go a maybe odd route that will
result in a fairly stylized style of speech. most of the phonemes
I have selected are soft  and made at the  front of the mouth.  I
added a few middle mouth sounds as well,  but none from the back.
It will end up with a very airy feel and maybe a slight french, a
language I do not speak, influence from a sound/voicing perspect-
ive.

I figure this will be a project I will step away  from  and  come
back to over the course of time, so I am not in much of a rush to
develop it. I'm not sure what I want to do with it really. I just
like the idea of making it. I have not thought too much past pho-
nemes yet, though I do have a few gramatical thoughts:   I do not
want there to be a gramatical concept of gender (no 'la' vs 'el')
and I know I want there to be a future tense verbform (instead of
the english way of handling future tense: 'will be' or somesuch).
I have not really started into sentence structure yet.

If anyone has advice re: conlangs in general, please reach out!
