Hi all, today I'm going to discuss 2 topics. One of them is hurricanes and the other is BBSes.
Basically, I'm going to be experiencing a hurricane where I live, and it's expected to be a category 3-4 when it hits land. The
hurricane is Hurricane Dorian, btw. I've never been in a hurricane before, really. A couple of tropical storms, yeah. but
never a hurricane. I don't think anything bad will happen, but we might lose power for a couple of days. Hopefully the hurricane
won't blow our windows out. I live in a sturdy apartment complex though, and I live on the second floor of it. Apparently
the hurricane is supposed to hit during Labor Day. The last time there was a Labor Day storm, it didn't end well for anyone.
So yeah, if you don't see me for a while it's because of the power outage.
Now I'd like to talk about BBSes or bulletin board systems. I've been exploring them and making accounts on a number of them
and I want to get to know the SysOps of them. I'm making a zine, which I will upload to a new directory on my gopher accounts
called simply 'zine'. It's a PDF file, and the first issue is relatively short, but I hope you'll find some use out of it. I
plan to make many more issues and cover a broad range of topics on BBSes and related. Maybe I'll have a topic on gopher as
well!
