By this time last year, I had already discovered a decent
quantity of four-leaf clovers. But until today, I hadn't
yet found a single one this year. Until today.
When wrangling the kids into line in prep for a walk
around the neighborhood, I happened to be standing in
clover patch near our house. I glanced down and saw one
four-leaf clover. First of the year!
I thought to myself that one is nice, but I'm still far
behind my pace from last year. And then I noticed another
right next to where I found the first one.
And another, and another. In all, I found 9 four-leaf
clovers within the period of one minute. This must have
been a mutant clover patch.
I didn't even bother to look for more (how many four-leaf
clovers does one person need?), but I may look again if
I'm feeling in need of luck. I may also call the
university ag extension office to see if they want to
sample the DNA of this clover patch.
