Too busy with analog stuff these days. Not much time to jack
in. Domestic tasks and attending to the child processes have
occupied my time. | |
Drove to Las Vegas this past Thursday through Sunday to
attend my son's soccer tournament. It was odd going to Vegas
for something like that. I'm used to going there to hang out
at The Strip or attend some kind of work-related function.
Anyhow, we were there and Vegas was Vegas. We did get to
stop at Cracker Barrel for dinner on the way in. I try to
hit Cracker Barrel whenever I have a chance. I *heart* their
food. | |
The kids wanted to hit the Pinball Hall of Fame again,
but unfortunately we didn't have a chance. We were bummed.
I had taken them there before and we always have a blast with
all of the old and fairly new pinball machines
We would also hit up this video game place next door as
well...I think it was called Gamer's Paradise. It is kinda
like a museum that also sells and repairs old games and
hardware. They even have the walls lined with boxes of the
vintage hardware and the hardware behind display cases. Last
time we were in there, I spent quite a bit of time just
looking at everything. They had old consoles, like
ColecoVision, Intellivision, Commodore, Odyssey, as well as
more recent ones like Xbox and Playstation, along with
accessories...some of which I have never seen. A lot of the
old machines there end up being emulated these days. They
also had a bunch of handheld games, like the table top arcade
Pacman or the some of the Tiger Electronic LCD ones. Even
the LED Mattel handheld Football and all those games under
that series. There were a few Nintendo Game and Watch games,
but not many. | |
Next door to that is a PC gaming cafe that also has a bunch
of music/Bemani video games. The kids (and myself) likes
that place as well. We gotta go to those places again next
time. Also, it is much cheaper and more fun than the games
on The Strip. | |
There was this one incident I observed at the soccer
tournament that I thought was funny. My son had a game at
8PM this past Saturday evening and I was walking around the
fields as they were warming up. I was approaching this row
of port-o-potties by the front gate and I saw these 4 soccer
moms hanging around gate. One of the soccer moms had their
phone out and was filming the outside of the port-o-potties.
Then all of a sudden, this other soccer mom ran up to one of
the toilets and shoulder checked the port-o-potty. The
female occupant screamed, "HEY!?!" as the port-o-potty leaned
and wobbled back into place. The soccer moms were laughing
and cracking up even more when they saw me laughing. I'm
sure it was probably sloshing around inside. Man, it was so
fuckin' funny! I wish I was able to capture that video. I'm
pretty sure the soccer moms partook in some adult beverages
prior to getting to the field. So funny!!!
