Well, that did not go as I had planned. I had a previous phost that
got b0rq'd when I transmitted, so you get this one. What I was
trying to do was participate in ROOPHLOCH 2023, as phosted by
solderpunk [1] earlier this month. The file was all ready for
transmission but I messed up the syntax for my file. This isn't the
first time I b0rq'd a phost and it probably won't be my last. Just
so aggravating!
What I wanted to do was phost from my favorite picture taking spot by
the Hollywood sign, which I haven't been to in years. I got a
little lost navigating through the Hoolywood Hills, but I eventually
found my way. The spot is by the road so it wasn't too far to hobble
since I'm still wearing a boot for my achilles. I was able to get
out there to snap some pics, which I will phost later.
I had learned about this location from a scooter group I used to ride
with back in 2005. This spot would be one of our stops during our
scooter rallies.
This round of ROOPHLOCH 2023, I decided to keep the hardware simple
since I am a bit challenged in the mobility department right now. My
devices are the Gemini PDA, made by Planet Computers, and the
Unihertz Titan mobile phone. I will write m0ar about the setup
later, but for now, I just want to go at it again at this park for
attempt #2.
Even though I lost my original file, I had fun getting out,
revisiting the sign, watching the tourists, and participating in
ROOPHLOCH 2023! Thank you, solderpunk, for the call for
smolnet/pubnix community participation this year and previous years!
