..continued @SBUX.

These days, my collection of stuff and the recollection and
rumination of these artifacts have been somehow theraputic
to my mental well being.  They somehow help solidify my
personal timeline and facilitate the recall of fond (and not
so fond) times and memories of days past, where my mental
recollection would have faded long ago.  I know these
artifacts are just material things on the surface and to
anybody else, they would just seem like old computing things
or even garbage.  My collections would not go for much at all
monetarily on ebay or from any other buyer.  My
recollections, even less...So I offer them to you here for
free ;)

Perhaps value would be found in other collectors like me, but
even with that, the value for me is more about the memories
of these things.  So I write these things down for posterity.
Should there come a time where my recollection degrades to
the point where I cannot recall what was written, at least it
will be there for me to read and enjoy as a new experience of
my past...or even as a reference for anybody else interested
in these kinds of things.

It's kinda funny how stuff can "store" memories like that for
me.  It's like I experience an object, or a happening with an
object, it gets recorded into my wetware...and stays resident
in RAM during usage.  Stuff like the duration and the amount
of usage determine how big of a pipe is provisioned for my
neural network.  After the period of experience has subsided,
the experiences lie dormant in Long Term Storage, bandwidth
gets throttled, and the fiber goes dark until recollection.

When I am reminded of the object or even more so when I see
or pick up the artifact, the wetware is reactivated and pulls
from Long Term Storage.  The fiber lights up, the neural
pathways are reactivated, and data is restored into my
nostalgia module.  The opportunity for network expansion
becomes an option and the cycle continues.

Of course the data is only as good as I remember it.  The
integrity of the data is flawed like me, experiencing as a
human, with my biases and opinions, organic and
analog...committing these thoughts to wetware. I only
remember things as I am right now.

I don't think that total recall will ever be possible in this
lifetime if ever. Cameras and recording equipment are so
readily available these days and are also everywhere.  But
what is missing is the recollection of the internal
experience of the external.  And that is why I write.  Where
is my simstim meat toy?  I want my simstim now!

With my failing wetware and fading memories, I find it
critical to commit regular snapshots to external software and
hardware, whether it be an analog journal, a blog, a song, a
photograph, a sculpture, a drawing, an encrypted text file, a
tatoo, a mind palace, a phlog...  Is the desire to preserve
and solidify the past part of the human condition or is it
just inherent in me?
