I still haven't got any reply to my latest message regarding the bug in
the prefix editor of Logmaster. I believe this is the THIRD time I write,
so now I expect some response.
To recreate the bug, I hereby give a step by step approach:
1. Select "View" in the main menu of the prefix editor.
2. Select "Country" or "Prefix", it doesn't really matter which.
3. In the view summary that is now displayed, press the up arrow key to
simulate a movement up in the list. Since the cursor is already at
the first record, it isn't possible to move any further up, of course.
This is just to generate the bug. Because if you now select the very
first record in the view summary by pressing Enter, the screen goes
black, with a less than desirable message:
"Log system Panic 63 Hit any key to shut down".
I belive that should be clear enough. As you also wanted me to send my
DXCC and COUNTRY files when we last discussed the problem, I send them
again, UUencoded. I don't think they are the problem, though. I have
managed to recreate the bug with a fresh installation directly from the
original (v7.01) diskettes. I have upgraded to 7.05, expecting to see
the bug fixed, but it is still there. The prefix editor hasn't been
updated at all since version 7.01, as far as I can see.
And I *don't* think this is just a "cosmetic" thing. If I scroll up the
view summary with the up arrow key, I want the scrolling to stop at the
first record. So far it seems to work OK. But one thing I *don't* want
is to look at a black screen with an error message when selecting the
first record later on.
Apart from this bug, and a few other small quirks, I am very satisfied
with the program.
