This is a special lesson. There is very little new grammar here and
more vocabulary.

<H4>Text 1</H4>


Cze��. Mam na imi� Piotr i jestem Polakiem. M�wi� po polsku, angielsku,
hiszpa�sku i rosyjsku. Codziennie wstaj� rano, myj� si� i jem �niadanie.
Na �niadanie jem chleb z mas�em i szynk� oraz pij� herbat�. Potem pracuj�.
Po po�udniu czytam ksi��k�. Wieczorem ogl�dam telewizj�.

Notes:

<LI>In every form of the regular verbs, I have separated a root from a stem suffix
and an ending (if it exists) with hyphen marks.
</OL>

Verbs mie�, je��, ogl�da� and pi� require an accusative
(eg. mam ksi��k�, jesz kolacj�, ogl�da telewizj�, pijesz herbat�).

Only imi� may be a difficult word to inflect.

Prepositions can be omitted so that they would not be used
twice. For example:

but you cannot delete a preposition in the following expressions

If you want to say that you have/eat/take/get/etc.
something1 and something2 together, you should use the preposition z,
eg. je�� chleb z mas�em = to eat bread and butter together
(after putting some butter on bread).

A: - Jak masz na imi�? 
M: - Monika. A ty? 
A: - Nazywam si� Adam. Studiuj� histori�. 
M: - Ja studiuj� fizyk�, a Robert studiuje medycyn�. 
A: - Co studiuje Barbara? 
M: - Geografi�. 
M: - Co jesz na �niadanie? 
A: - Bu�k� z d�emem, a potem jajecznic�. 
M: - Ja jem chleb, jajko, ��ty ser i pij� kaw�.

Pay attention to the pronuciation of studiowa�, historia and
geografia. 
<UL>
<LI>Since Polish d and t do not have their soft
equivalents, the groups di and ti are pronounced as [d j] and [t j]
respectively. Examples: studiujesz kardiologi� [s t u d j u j e sz &nbsp&nbsp
k a r d j o l o g j e] - you study cardiology, tiosiarczan [t j o s i a r cz a n]
- thiosulphate.
<LI>In the words of foreign origin which end with -ia, the i is pronounced
as j. For example: historia [h' i s t o r j a], geografi�
[g e o g r a f j e]. Such nouns will be considered in lesson 9.
