Cecil says, "Are the guardians going to say anything about quadir being a wizzen?"
Maxamillian says, "I'm waiting to hear if we are going to look seriously at promoting some (actual) women into the wizzen, beyond Cats."
Cecil says, "Oh, like Claudia? That was vetoed because we don't need "social" wizzen anymore, we're all BOFHs. ;P"
Kagen says, "Cats is a woman?"
Cecil isn't bitter though.
Maxamillian says, "Umm.  So, who's the most technically competant woman other than Cats?"
Kagen says, "I used to know this Italian woman, who was absolutely amazing with firewalls, at IBM"
Cecil says, "If Maxamillian actually supports Claudia as a guardian, I'd be willing to forge ahead and try to change some of this antisocial wizzen group stigma we seem to be collecting. But everyone so far has been "abstain, meh, sure whatever, meh, abstain""
Maxamillian says, "You don't count; you're already wizzen."
Kagen hmms.
Maxamillian says, "I definetely support wholeheartedly anything to reduce the antisocial wizzen group stigma."
Kagen says, "Yeah, let them think we're nice, and then... BAM! we strike while their guard's down."
Maxamillian says, "Why are we all such elitest jerks?"
Lao-Tzu says, "Because I'm better than everyone else."
Kagen says, "max, it comes with the natural arrogance of having an IQ over 125."
Maxamillian says, "If you're all so smart, I'm sure you can figure out a good solution."
Cecil says, "Max: I'm not sure, but I think it reflects on the attitudes of the users."
Kagen says, "Solution? What? Please define the problem."
Maxamillian says, "The problem that we're a bunch of elitest jerks."
Lao-Tzu fails to see this as a problem.
Kagen says, "... oh."
Cecil sees this as a problem.
Lao-Tzu says, "... Is there some specific issue that is causing this to be discussed?"
Cecil says, "Maxamillian says, "I'm waiting to hear if we are going to look seriously at promoting some (actual) women into the wizzen, beyond Cats.""
Cecil says, "Cecil says, "Oh, like Claudia? That was vetoed because we don't need "social" wizzen anymore, we're all BOFHs. ;P""
Maxamillian says, "Well, someone wanted to know what the guardians thought about appointing Quadir.  So I said I wanted to know what people thought about trying to appoint some women to the guardian staff.  It degenerated into this."
Cecil isn't bitter, deceptive, or petty though.
Kagen says, "Not petty and deceptive, no."
Maxamillian giggles.
Lao-Tzu says, "Do you believe we are promoting quadir rather than Claudia because of some sexist attitude?"
Maxamillian says, "No."
Cecil says, "No. I believe we are promoting quadir rather than Claudia because quadir can program whereas Claudia can't."
Kagen says, "I think it's more to do with that we don't seem to want? need? a social figure as child of $guardian"
Maxamillian says, "Exactly."
Lao-Tzu says, "So why does gender factor into the wizzen equation at all? We're mostly male, but it's not because we're sexist."
Cecil has never thought programming should be a prerequisite for guardianship.
Maxamillian says, "Actually, we probably are."
Lao-Tzu says, "Pardon me, but can you give me a reason why a 'social guardian' helps the MOO?"
Kagen says, "Actually, yes..."
Lao-Tzu says, "It's not like we have policy that needs enforcing which the current staff aren't capable of doing."
Kagen says, "A social guardian can help in dumping antisocial persons, and can actually give people a sense of security, in that there's actual thinking, feeling, caring persons in charge."
Maxamillian says, ""Enforcing policy" is not (by itself) a good way to create a healthy, active community."
Lao-Tzu says, "What is the tangible benefit? Touchy feely reasoning doesn't do it for me."
Kagen says, "The tangible benefit would be player retention."
Maxamillian says, "Right, it doesn't do it for *you*."
Kagen says, "A comfier moo would be a more popular moo."
Lao-Tzu says, "Thank you Kagen. That is a reason."
