---> Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Hosting <---
I offer several server software packages for Windows 2000. I have
used the FTP, Gopher, HTTP, and Mail software, and found them to be
quite satisfactory for everyday business use.
The "Enhancements" folder contains high quality applets that can
increase the suitablity of Windows 2000 Professional for hosting (and
are excellent add-ons for any Win2k clients as well).
Please read the documentation included with these files. All software
is "freeware" (not advertisements, time limited trials, etc.) for use
in -both- a home or business environment, unless explicitly (and rarely)
stated as being "free only if for non-business/non-government use".
NOTICE:
Windows 2000 Professional already comes with an NT "service" based
TELNET host (called .

TIP:
It is always a good idea to see file extensions, especially if you
are running a server. By default, Windows 2000 hides the extensions.
To make them visible; open "Windows Explorer" (NOT Internet Explorer),
and open the pulldown menu: "Tools" - "Folder Options...". Next select
the Tab "View". In the "Advanced settings" box under "Files and Folders"
uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types". Under the "Hidden
files and folders", also choose the "Show hidden files and folders"
radio button.
Additionally if you also want to see "*.shs" (Shell Scrap Object) file
extensions, you must edit the Registery and delete the value:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - ShellScrap]"NeverShowExt".
