Access from the Internet to the California State Senate includes:

       Electronic Mail,
       Document Archives, and
       Mailing-list services.


Those are accessible using "servers" which include the following:

       Electronic Mail (to contact senators, committees and staff),
       Mailserv        (to access mail-lists and archives),
       Senate-News     (to access bill-info., office-mail-lists and archives),
       Gopher          (to access bill-info. and archives),
       WWW             (to access bill-info. and archives),
       Mosaic, Netscape, LYNX, etc. (same as WWW)
       FTP             (to access archives)
       Finger          (to access e-mail addresses)
       Finger ZIP      (to identify Senator(s) that serve a ZIP code area)
       Finger by mail  (same as Finger for e-mail users)

Generally, those servers may be accessed as follows:

                  information from the Internet.

MAILLIST.TXT    -- Locating information about mailing lists to automatic-
                       ally receive certain types of information.

RESEARCH.TXT    -- Locating information about Senate Office of Research
                       reports

SENATORS.TXT    -- Locating information about Senators

TV.TXT          -- Locating information about Cable TV programming and
                       tape archives

WDMACRO2.TXT    -- Microsoft Word-2 Macro for converting bill-text docu-
                  ments into formatted word processor documents.

WDMACRO6.TXT    -- Microsoft Word-6 Macro for converting bill-text docu-
