These are revised numbers based on fresh testing on nearly-zero loaded systems:

Script          P3-700/WinNT4   P2-300/WinME    P1-200/Linux 2.2
------          -------------   ------------    ----------------
Baja/PCMS         32,000           1,000          80,000
JavaScript        38,000           3,200           2,200

(again, numbers were averaged and rounded)

I don't know what's wrong with Netscape's code on Linux, but man, Linux seems
to like MY code. :-)

It would be interesting to see some comparable numbers for VBScript, Tcl, Perl,
and other major scripting languages. I'm sure Angus is probably already working
on a Perl module (the proverbial "Pandora's Box"?).
