The only thing that springs immediately to the eye is this snippet on or about
line 409 (just after the start of the "Message Area").

Notice that there is an "end_if" for which the matching "if_true" has been
commented out?  This is likely to do unexpected things to the stack.  Try
changing this for a start.

Of course, this may be completely unrelated to your problem, but even so it
would be a good idea to correct it...
