Just tried it, and yes, I was able to FTP to vert.synchro.net
I thought about DNS as well, and even reset everything back to "stock" setting,
with the same problem. I'm baffled - IS there maybe a file or new java script
that would have come out with 3.11b that maybe (just maybe) was corrupt or
something when I installed???

I did try to ;exec *telgate vert.synchro.net right after the *ftp command --
still getting !Failed to resolve address:
