Correct, on the cheaper modems, setting up for a multiple IP block opens
the web management interface to the internet at large... I simply do not
like this.  Also, there weren't any clear instructions on how to do the
multiple IP block for the modem I was given by the ISP (rental), and ordered
the Cisco before I figured it out... the cisco worked a bit better, though
using the serial mgt cable takes getting used to.

I'm not a huge network guy, and appreciate the web interfaces offered by
some devices these days, but feel it's undue overhead.  Will probably
upgrade my firewall before I do anything with the dsl modem though.
