So further update, it seems the QWK posts do generate a notification. I'm looking for data/msgs/0001.msg before I login, and I saw it there with your messages.

But no, the messages are not being deleted (Scan all new to me reveals them), and I have nothing outside of sync deleting data/msgs/0001.msg.

Incently, when I manually create data/msgs/0001.msg outside of sync (I've been copying an old one to data/msgs/0001.msg, it doesnt trigger the alert - should it? Only when a new one is added to it does.)
