The following message is transmitted at the request of the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

During extreme heat it is important for citizens to remember the
Following information to protect your life and health and that of
your family:

Stay in air-conditioned buildings.

Contact your local health department to locate public access air-
Conditioned centers or cooling centers in your area.

Do not rely on a fan as your primary cooling device.

Limit outdoor activity, especially midday when it is the hottest
Part of the day, and avoid direct sunlight.

Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing.

Take cool showers or baths to lower your body temperature.

Check on at-risk friends (such as older adults), family, and
Neighbors at least twice a day.

Do not leave pets or children in parked cars.

Stay hydrated. Drink more than usual and dont wait until you are
Thirsty to drink.

Avoid alcohol or liquids containing high amounts of sugar.

Make sure your family, friends, and neighbors are drinking enough
Water. Stay informed check your local news for extreme heat warnings
And safety tips.
