Years ago, ham radio licensees had to draw schematic diagrams, etc. on the
exams. Today, though...the schematics are already there, in the Question Pool.
The current Technician Class license Question Pool has 5 schematics...the
current General Class license Question Pool has 1 schematic...and the current
Amateur Extra Class Question Pool has 12 schematics.

By far, the Amateur Extra Class exam schematics are the most difficult. If you
have a background in electrical engineering or studying, it should be
relatively easy for you. But, if you're like most people, things like Smith
Charts, Polar Coordinates, Toroidial Winding Coils, etc. bring back memories of
Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, etc.

In many of the articles in QST (the monthly journal of the American Radio Relay
League), many of the stories have these schematics. Also, with most radios
purchased, the documentation also has schematic diagrams.

In the ham radio license exam area, the PDF file with the letter G at the END
of the prefix, denotes the schematic diagrams and graphics associated with the
Question Pool. The pools themselves change every 4 years, and further
information on that will be in the License Exams, Classes, and Study Options
areas.
