I've been QRT, and my BBS has been OFFLINE since June 19, when severe
thunderstorms blasted across Arkansas. There were reports of softball
size hail in west Arkansas, tornadoes in southeast Arkansas, and numerous
reports of wind damage...especially around central Arkansas.

Just up the street from my home, a huge tree, with an 8 foot diameter
root structure, was uprooted by hurricane force winds. It fell on to the
nearby power lines, pulling them, and splitting/pulling apart the power
pole across the street from my house. That, in turn, pulled the electric
meter off the north side of the house, resulting in the loss of power and
air conditioning for nearly 2 weeks.

The night of the storm, it wasn't too bad...but the next night was
unbearable, with apparent temperatures around 100 degrees, with no air
conditioning, etc. I resolved that I would die if I stayed here, so I
went to the Super 8 Motel at Otter Creek, Arkansas (southwest of Little
Rock)...staying there for 9 days, while I waited for the insurance
company to settle the claim, and for the electrician to make repairs,
and to restore power. The electric meter on the north side of the house,
as well as the indoor panel, had to be replaced.

Once back home, with power restored, the next task was to install
Windows 10 Pro 32-bit, and get everything reinstalled. Between scattered
thunderstorms and other issues, the BBS was offline for over 2 weeks;
but hopefully, I'm back online for awhile now.

The bad part was because of the expenses, I had to CANCEL my planned
Amtrak trip to the Duke City Hamfest in Albuquerque in September. Sadly,
my travel days outside of central Arkansas, are all but over.

Sorry for any inconvenience...your understanding is appreciated.
