Due to the tragic death of the wife of the Net Control Operator for
the PCL Packet Net (Bob Smith, NS2B), I have decided to CANCEL the
D-Star Food Net for Monday, April 29.
I know what he is going through. This coming Saturday, April 27, will
be the 12th anniversary of my wife's death...and I know that he has far
more important fish to fry right now...no pun intended.
Also, with Reflector 26A crashing during the Food Net last night, that
makes it more likely I'll be moving the QCWA D-Star Net, the D-Star Trains
Net, and the D-Star Food Net, to the QuadNet Array very soon. For more
details on the QuadNet Array, go to www.openquad.net -- if you have an
older D-Star rig, such as an Icom ID-51, go to the vendors website. There
should be links there to download software updates, where you can put them
on the rig's SD card, and add the feature to link to the X-Reflectors,
instead of just the US Trust Reflectors.
The changes are as follows (all times below U.S. Eastern):
1) QCWA D-Star Net -- 5pm Sunday -- Net will MOVE on Sunday, May 5.
The day and time will remain the same as it is now. Checkins will also
be taken on the QCWA Facebook Page on that day. This move is CONFIRMED.
2) D-Star Food Net -- 8:30pm Monday -- this will be CHANGED to Saturday
at 8pm -- the effective date is dependent on the approval of the Admins
of the QuadNet Array. Checkins will also be taken in the D-Star Food
Net Facebook Group that day. This move is PENDING.
3) D-Star Trains Net -- 8pm Friday -- the effective date of MOVING is
PENDING the approval of the Admins of the QuadNet Array. The net will
still meet at 8pm Eastern Time on Friday.
