As per an earlier message, I changed my callsign from WX1DER to WX4QZ
on March 22, 2019, getting a fresh 10 year term. It will expire when I
turn 69...and we'll save any snide remarks for the off the air fertilizer
nets (hi hi).

But, in some of the autoposts that are made from my BBS each month,
every so often, I note a post which still has the old callsign in it.
Yet, instead of having to go through every single file, if I see it
post, I correct it, so it'll be right next month. On my BBS, I don't
consider messages more than 30 days old to be "timely".

Admittedly, I did screw up with my old callsign 3 times after I got
the new one...once on CQ100, once on an X-Reflector, and once on a D-Star
Reflector. :P But, to an amateur radio operator, our callsign is so much
a part of us. Our first name is our first name, and our last name is our
callsign. We likely don't know what the surname of the other ham radio
operator is!! Yet, we wear badges at hamfests, and walk up to them, like
we've known them forever...but we don't know them from Adam and Eve (hi hi).

Now, email wise, the new callsign is at wx4qz at arrl dot net -- but
it forwards to the old callsign (wx1der) at gmail dot com -- I have way
too much data for medical items, billing, etc. to change it. Besides, the
way GMail is setup now, if your email is shorter than 6 characters, you
have to add an additional character, or GMail won't let you use it. With
the former callsign, I have the 6 characters already.

So, while I have a new callsign on the air, my old callsign "lives on"
at GMail.

Daryl, WX4QZ
