Normally, ham radio operators are prohibited from any communications, where
they or their employer have a pecuniary (monetary) interest.

However, in the FCC Rules, Title 47 of the Code Of Federal Regulations, Part
97.113, subpart A, paragraph 3, makes an exception.

Ham Radio operators can advise other hams of gear that they want to buy, sell,
or trade...as long as such activity is not conducted on a regular basis (i.e.
every day).

On most nets, the following stipulations apply:

1) The items MUST be ham radio related, or used in the shack.

2) Prices can be mentioned on the air, but any "haggling" should be taken to
the landline, or email.

3) Financial arrangements are between the buyer and seller.

4) Gear posted is assumed to be in good working order, unless otherwise noted.

As a side note, on the Memphis D-Star/D-Rats Net, on Friday nights at 8:30pm
Central Time, you can list ham radio related equipment, D-Star or otherwise,
that you want to buy, sell, or trade.
