The problem with conspiracy theories today is that most end up being proven
true.
But as to why they are pushing Rust, I don't know since I can't read minds.
What I do know is that:
1. Rust itself isn't ready for prime time.
2. The Rust rewrites are incomplete, unproven and buggy. Example: The
CloudFlare outage recently.
3. And every reason the Rusties are giving for why they want this is provably
false.

Evangelists encourage, demonstrate, and overall, try to prove that they are
right with facts and results.
The Rusties aren't "evangelists". They are something else.
... I may have my faults, but being wrong ain't one of them.
