it was an update from windows 8 i believe.  the daughter who i call the
destroyer of all electronics dropped a ton of water on the keyboard and brought
it to me asking if i could fix it.

she was using the couch as a desk and then put her waterbottle on the cushion
and ofcourse it dumped on the laptop.
she went through 5 iphones too.
