I've been playing around with a Mavic Mini and doing a lot of reading,
especially the rules around what is considered "hobby" versus "commercial".

Be careful flying around groups, even with permission.  Read up on the
FAA Part 107 rules and the commercial license requirements and what you
can do with it.

Flying is a blast but there are jerks that will try to tell you that you
are breaking the law.  The best defense is to be informed!
