i just had to replace some weird cfl bulbs. i thought i had it cooled off
enough but i got a wicked burn on my hand unscrewing one.
cfls have dangerous chemicals and they arent to be used where the light is
turned on and off frequently.

i've been using led bulbs for a long time and i love them.  i will tell you
this, though: no way do they last for 10 years.  maybe a few years.  because of
bad practices, they will probably have some issue and die within that 2 years.
i've had this happen with expensive name brands and cheap dollar store ones.

i would still use led bulbs because i like to get bright white light and they
are more energy efficient.
