I'm not sure there are many places that even develop film anymore, now that there are digital cameras.  Unless you really like film photography, why bother when you can use a digital camera?  Most places that do photo prints these days let you bring in photos on a memory card to print out for you.  Some places (like Walgreens) have a web site where you can upload photos from home and they'll make prints for you to come pick up.

Although my smartphone has a camera on it, I still prefer to use a dedicated camera when I want good results.  With my cell phone camera, I've noticed when I zoom in on my PC, I often notice weird-looking artifacts.  My smartphone is over 3 years old, so I know there's better stuff out now.  I just haven't had a need to replace my phone yet (and it still seems like I just got my current phone recently).  However, it seems to me smartphone cameras still can't do some things very well, like zooming in far - Smartphones just don't have enough room inside them for a lens mechanism that can do a good optical zoom.  Also, I'd want a digital camera where I can shoot in RAW format for editing later - I've heard some recent smartphones can do that.
