Aside from maybe some sort of sweet-and-sour vinegrette they might put on
some specialty sandwiches, I couldn't think of any sweet sauces they'd
have, either.

I can understand their frustration. If it were me, I would have been
looking forward to that carmel dip and would have been quite disappointed
not to get it while paying full price for the cookies.
