IIRC, there was some way to copy text in a DV window, but whatever you were
trying to paste it into would need to be "DV-aware" (I think) in order to
accept the text.

If your telnet client supports zmodem downloads, you could try QWK packet
messaging.  I am pretty sure that SLMR and other older DOS QWK packet
readers used to work under DV.

As you have some networking going on, you could also up/download your QWK
packets to/from the bbs via ftp.

QWK readers (usually) allow you to change the conference number that you
are going to put your reply into.
