Piece work is another job that pays the employee according to how many pieces
are worked on.
As a Router operator I put holes in wood pieces according to the pattern the
designers wanted.
Round holes, larger round holes, triangular holes etc.
Every piece was worked on in the shortest time during an hour would rise the
hourly pay scale .
Slower employees were paid less due to not processing as much material on their
shift..
I was a new employee and hadn't learned how to speed up working on a board
without leaving blimishes the Sanding Crew would have to give more attention to
Since pay wasn't hourly I wasn't paid as much as more experienced workers were.
Hence I quit and went looking for some other work where I was paid on an hourly
scale.
