I've heard GC has been in financial trouble.  The last time I tried going to my local GC (months ago), they had COVID restrictions in place and only allowed a limited number of people inside, and they said there was probably a 2 hour wait to get inside, so I went home.

One thing I do like about GC has always been that they carry a variety of stuff.  I've always liked going in to look at the guitars and synthesizers they have.  There seem to be plenty of stores in my area selling guitars, but not many I can think of that sell synthesizers (maybe I haven't looked enough).  I also like that Guitar Center posts used inventory on their web site, and you can buy used inventory and have it shipped to your local GC location.

I suppose buying online is an okay alternative though, as you can return what you don't like.
