In HAM Radio, sometimes wires will pick up a hum, and a ferrite band
will usually fix it. It's the same thing you use to 'filter' a phone line
that is used for DSL modems, so you might have one around to try...

I googled it - also called a Ferrite Choke - here's a link to what I'm
