The web v4 scripts don't do anything when you start your webserver. They are
only executed when a relevant request comes in. Are you seeing a huge amount
of traffic to your server? Google or something else crawling/indexing your
site?

I haven't had this happen to me, so no ideas off the top of my head. Can't
reproduce it here, so that makes things more difficult.
Web server logs from the period leading up to the crash might help to identify
where the problem is coming from. (Would highlight a particular page being
loaded, or a particular message group / sub being browsed, or something like
that.) Feel free to email a log file to my username at
bbs.electronicchicken.com, as it may be excessive to post here.
