This is Part 03 of a series wherein we talk about generating an entire campaign, on-the-fly, for your favorite fantasy role-playing game(s). In the future, it might have a tighter focus on either D&D or Pathfinder, but for now, let's consider this material more-or-less generic.

NOTE: All the usual polyhedron dice are used for DCS, though today, we'll only be using 1d12.

01: Cosmology

01.01: What came before? (continued...)

What existed before this world? Was it another world, filled with heroes? An endless plane of energy or thought? Or maybe there was nothing at all?

01.01.07

A World of Ice and Snow

Roll 1d12:

01 -- A world of ice and snow. Beings made of ice ruled over this world; all life was formed from living snow and frost.

02 -- An entirely frozen world, devoid of life.

03 -- That world was much like this one, only as if this world were entirely arctic. There were people, animals, and monsters; gods and heroes. All are gone. All are lost in time.

04 -- That world was somewhat like this one, except that ice stood in for earth and stone.

05 -- A world made entirely of ice, where fire was blue, and burned cold.

06 -- That world was one gigatic iceberg, floating upon the Etherial Plane.

07 -- It was a world made of ice and snow, that was destroyed in a cataclism. All that remains of it now, are the arctic regions of this world.

08 -- The present world used to be that one. It changed over time, and all that remains of it are the arctic regions and mountains peaks. Evil cults seek to bring that world back.

09 -- It was a world of ice, yet, nothing but a single snowflake in a blizzard of realities.

10 -- It was a world of ice and snow, which never flly went away; it still touches our world during the depths of Winter.

11 -- It was a world like ours, but covered i perpetual winter. The first gods were formed of snow by the mortal people who lived there.

12 -- It was a world of ice and snow. One ice crystal shone above all others, and became the sun. It melted that world, which formed the lakes, rivers, and oceans.

To be continued...
