So, we have all heard the hype. AI everywhere, blah blah blah. Yeah I
am just as sick of it as everyone else.
However, I was at a plant last week in Idaho for work and was talking
to one of the workers there. He works for six months a year, then
takes the other half year off to write software with AI. He was very
passionate about it.
So after talking to him, I decided to give it a shot this weekend off
and at home. It took some doing, but I had ChatGPT write a terminal
based file manager targeting Termux on Android. Turned out well. I
posted the result to [my gitlab][1]. Included in the repo README is
the code to add to your .bashrc that will enable changing the shell's
directory to wherever you navigated to in lfm upon exit. As well as
binding ctrl-f to running the file manager. Pressing ? in the file
manager brings up a help screen popup.
It was fun, but I am still sick of AI everywhere.
