The RCAViking Pro 10 is an android hybrid tablet. I am calling it that
beause it comes with a detactable keyboard and looks like a laptop.  I
bought it for $98.00  from Wal*Mart with  the  intent  of  rooting  it
and  installing  Linux  Deploy  (Arch).   Alas,  when  I  got  home  I
discovered  it  is not possible  to root the Android 6 variant of this
tablet, only the Android 5 model that came before  it.  So, undaunted,
instead  of  root  and  Linux Deploy,  I  installed  GnuRoot Debian. I
uninstalled  TWM,  installed gcc, make, et al. Copied over my modified
dwm  source,  compiled it (after locating some missing deps), set this
up to run  instead of the xterm  with the button press in GnuRoot, and
voila.

Additional installs: vim  (the true editor),  tabbed,  surf, lynx (for
gopher), and ssh. I am left  with a workable Linux laptop  for  taking
out  of  town or using  in bed  before I go to sleep. pretty nifty. It
does  have a  USB host  port, microUSB,  HDMI, and a proprietary power
port.

NOTE: screenfetch in the photos below shows errors because /dev is not
available.  However, what's a pic of a Linux screen these days without
screenfetch?
