Gopher Proxy was created by Stephen Morley. The majority of the coding was completed at the start of Autumn 2009. Until Autumn 2011, the Gopher Proxy ran on a server with a 2.1 GHz quad-core Opteron 2372 HE processor, 4 GB of RAM, and four 500 GB disks in a RAID 6 configuration. The Gopher Proxy used to be online on gopherproxy.org, but has moved to gopherproxy.meulie.net when it came under new management.
