I finally made some time to read the first chapter of
mijk's story "Firran" or "The Inca Queen." I'm not highly
qualified to comment on sci-fi, but I enjoyed it. His
descriptions were colorful, and I was easily drawn in.

As a kid, I enjoyed the "Space Quest" series, along with
the obligator Star Wars fascination that was especially
strong in people who were young in the 1980's. Mijk's
character is a lot more sterling than Roger Wilco ever
was, which was refreshing. Firran seemed skilled, hard
working, talented, and likable.

Here's to hoping Mijk has a go at finishing the story
up, I'd love to see where he takes it!
