Now you're jogging some old memories.  I recall toying with PCTools as well,
and a bunch of other utils, say, to low-level format HDDs and adjust
sector-skipping rates, etc.  :)

On second thoughts: it's h-e-a-v-y on photo file sizes, so, save it till you
find a fast internet connection.  I really must do one or two piccies of the
current Win 8.1 before I blow it away, too.  ;)

Yep, they're copping it tough over there.  They share pretty much the same
environment as us on the east coast, but it's much much drier. Hence a lot of
bushfires.

Ooh, this reminds me.  My youngest daughter works as a nurse in a remote
hospital in Mount Isa (usually spelled Mt Isa).  She was staying with me on the
weekend and happened to, just casually mind you, mention that she works with a
girl from Aland!  I'm sure she said Aland.  (I'll double-double check.)  I
should ask for a name, as well.
