If you're using Windows 10 you may have heard that Microsoft has released a
large 'Fall Update' with a mix of bug-fixes and feature improvements (etc)...
It's slowly rolling out through Windows Update.

You can, if you wish, update to it now without waiting for Windows Update to
decide that your turn has come. (As well, if you're currently running Win
7/8/8.1 and want to take the plunge you can get this latest version of Win 10).

To do so, go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
and download the Update tool - it will analyze your system (you need at least 8
GB free space on C: for instance), and then if you choose to proceed, will
download and install the update version of the current Windows 10 release - in
this case, the so-called 1511 version (i.e. November 2015) - the Fall Update.

I've just done this on the pair of low-powered HP Steam 11 note books that my
wife and I have and it worked smoothly, respecting all our files, applications,
and settings.

Afterwards, your previous Windows version will be in a Windows.old folder,
allowing you to roll-back to the previous version if desired - that will be
automatically removed in 30-days, or if you want to free up the space, you can
run Disk Cleanup - clicking on the Cleanup System Files option and manually
opting to remove Old Windows Versions.
